Fiona is a trained meditation teacher and has an insatiable appetite for learning and growth. Born in the UK, she now lives in Melbourne with her Austrian partner and daughter. Outside of work she can be found hiking, reading, singing (badly yet happily) in a choir, escaping to nature as often as possible, having “deep and meaningful” conversations with anyone who cares to engage, and spending time with family and friends.

A PERSONAL STORY
Like all of us, there are many experiences that have shaped who I am today. One of these feels particularly catalytic, which I am sharing here.
In my early 30s I made the slightly unconventional decision to move to Austria. Rationally it made no sense at all. The only way I could describe it was as a gravitational pull. Looking back at my journal on the day I landed in this unknown land by myself with a 20kg suitcase, what I could articulate was as a desire to “strip everything away and see what sticks”. As a wise friend once said to me, be careful what you wish for!
Despite my initial plan being to stay for a few months, this extended into a six-year adventure. It was both tough and exhilarating to start a life from scratch in a country where I knew only one person and not a word of the language. Within a year, a serendipitous twist led me to a global strategy role in the Fund Development & Communication team of one of the largest international NGOs in Europe. The learning curve was steep and imposter syndrome was a constant companion! Travelling extensively across Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, my eyes were opened to other perspectives. The experience pushed me to grow, demanded courage and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across many countries. It was complex and I was often out of my depth. And yet I gained deep insights into leadership and my own capabilities.
So why does this story matter?
Our stories shape us. When people come to coaching, they bring their past, present, and future aspirations. Some of these are expressed, while others remain unspoken. In coaching, we explore these narratives: which ones matter, which want to be rewritten, and what is yet to emerge. These are the thresholds we navigate together.
My story matters because it has shaped who I am as a person and a coach. More than just my expertise, my experiences enable me to support your leadership development, helping you uncover and rewrite your own stories for greater impact and growth.
